16th Century Spanish Dress in Civitates Orbis Terrarum: 1572 -1575

The images found below are from the wonderful Historic Cities website. They have a number of pages from the Civitates Orbis Terrarum scanned. I have cropped and cleaned up the images when necessary, my focus being on the costumed figures rather than the maps.

For now I am looking at the first two volumes of Civitates Orbis Terrarum which were published in 1572 and 1575.

My hope is over time I’ll be able to expand this section into a quick loading index for costume reference, and explore how the engravings changed with each reprint.
