    Thanks Giselle! I do take the basting thread out when wearing it, the starch helps the ruff stay in shape for the most part. In period pins were also used and sometimes wax to keep the sets from going anywhere. The starch lasts for a few wearings as long as I do not wear it in the rain or on very humid days.

    The ruff looks wonderful.
    I would imagine that you take out the basting thread for wearing it? Does the starch make the ruff keep its shape well or does it deflate after a while?

    Wow, as someone who is trying to learn something new every day, this is amazing, I wish that I had the patience that it takes to hand sew a peice of garb!
